The Move | Part II

Life is finally starting to settle down and a “routine” is starting to happen.  The boys are back in preschool.  Thanks the Lord!  I think I ended the last post hinting at our lack of hot water for five days.  Well, as a Happy New Year surprise, our hot water heater broke!  My in-laws were at our new house visiting and my MIL found herself left with no hot water.  She decided to wait for the water heater to refill.  Except, the water heater never refilled.  We again called the landlord and also made a call to Lowe’s.  A new hot water heater was purchased and we were told the installer has two days to call you to schedule the installation…what?????  This was Saturday and on Monday night I received a call saying we would have hot water by THURSDAY!!!  I begged the installer to come a day earlier, so we went FIVE days without hot water.  I felt very primitive.  We heated water on the stove to take our nightly baths.  This should be romantic, but let me tell you it is NOT.

You would think this was the last thing that could go wrong, but then the boys started coughing and coughing and coughing.  After a trip to the pediatrician.  We were told that they either had whooping cough or walking pneumonia.  The test came back negative for whooping cough, so we suffered through several sick days of pneumonia.  I am happy to say that we are all back to healthy and have had a week free of random repairs or illness.  It is starting to look up!

So, I’m looking forward to a good year.  I shouldn’t jinx this by saying all the bad stuff has happened, so we will just leave it as that.
