If you see a mom of twins and she looks as though she is ready to break out in a nervous sweat, you may want to offer help!
Yesterday, I took my weekly trip to the fabric store to get supplies. I dread this trip! I love fabric stores, but not with two three year olds at my feet. As soon as we walk in the door, there is a “debate” over who gets to push the cart. For that matter, there is a “debate” over which cart we will be pushing. At my best attempt to stay calm and collect, I pull out a cart and start moving.
I hope they will follow, but that is usually not the case. I finally corral them along with the cart and we make our way through the store. I try to manage two large bolts of fabric, one long roll of fabric and two totally un-manageable little boys. In almost a sweat now, I roll over to the cutting counter. Only to get that one woman, the same woman we get every time. The woman that takes her time and gives me these looks as my boys pull bolts of fleece off the shelves. They are only trying to suggest what their next blanket should be.
Of course, they are traveling in two different directions, so I end up standing in the middle of them saying, “come back here”, “don’t pull that fleece down”, “don’t touch that” and so on.
Just once, could they please offer me help! I think I spend enough. I always smile and am very polite. I have a preferred member card!
I do most of my shopping on-line. The UPS man is always very nice and never gives me funny looks when he drops off the package. If only it could all just arrive at my front door. And for that matter, why can’t they make everything a drive thru. I could just pull up and order my fabric. Hmmm…now that’s an idea!

ok…I love your blog but this made me laugh out loud! I love those boys!
always happy to make you laugh!
Oh my goodness, I know what you mean. I will pay for shipping ANY day rather than cart all four kiddos to the fabric store. Plus our fabric store has teensy tiny carts that I can’t even get the baby carrier into {how useless is that}.
I so feel your pain on this one…
Oh yes, the teeny tiny carts, I know exactly what you mean….haha. I can’t imagine managing four at a time!
