Why Is It Hard to Say Thank You?

My mom is staying with us this week, after my lovely left lung collapse last week.  It is wonderful.  Not only for the extra help that is much needed around our house, but also to spend some quality time together.  Now that we live two hours apart, often our visits are packed into a short, chaotic weekend.  This morning in the middle of our conversation, I said “thank you”.   I admit that I often struggle to tell my mom thank you.  Why is this?  It is difficult for me to admit that I need help and can’t do this on my own.  But, the truth is that none of us can do this on our own.

So, I will now shout THANK YOU mom for ALWAYS running to my side.

I’m doing much better and will find out on Monday if my lung is back to normal.  Until then, I’m taking it easy, sewing a little and napping when needed.  Thank you all for your prayers and messages.
